a Few of My Favorite Pie Recipes

Today is National Pie Day! There are so many goofy holidays nowadays, but National Pie Day is one I like. I don’t remember much about Pi beyond 3.1416, but I do know pie. So today, in honor of National Pie Day, here are my favorite pie recipes.

Brownie Meringue Pie

Brownie Meringue Pie: What could be better than bringing together buttery crust, fudgy brownie, and light as air meringue? While not a traditional pie, this is destined to become a tradition.

Pear Tart Above

Rustic Pear Tart: This is a French style pie with a great butter crust and some glazed pears. I love how the mellow flavor of the sweet pears melts into the crust. Served warm with ice cream, each slice is perfection.

Tomato Tarte Tatin

Tomato Tarte Tatin: This pie can go either way: savory or sweet. The tomatoes get caramelized and take on a beautiful sheen. Tomatoes are a fruit after all, and in this sensational unorthodox take on Tarte Tatin, they can hold their own as either an appetizer or a dessert.
