I love cookie exchanges. Love everything about them. The planning, the cooking, the opportunity to show off, the eating, the sugar coma, and, most of all, the end result: the addition of vetted, delicious new recipes to my Christmas cookie repertoire.
Cookie exchanges are a great time to experiment and test out what cookies to send out to families and friends for the holidays. Some of my favorite recipes in years past have included these simple and dangerously addictive Oreo truffles,
and these elegant chocolate swirl meringues.
This year, in addition to the cookie exchanges going on locally, I just signed up to for a virtual cookie exchange, bringing together food bloggers across the country. And I’d love it if you joined too!
Julie from the Little Kitchen and Lindsay and Taylor from Love and Olive Oil are organizing the Food Blogger Cookie Swap. So far close to 500 bloggers have signed up to participate. Each blogger will be paired up with three other bloggers and will send a dozen cookies to each. In return, you’ll receive three dozen cookies to enjoy and inspire you.
Sign ups are open through Tuesday, November 15th at 10pm EST. Matches will be emailed to you on Monday the 21st, and we ask that you please get your cookies in the mail no later than December 5th. Blog posts with your cookie recipes should be written and ready for publication on December 12th.
