Four children is definitely a lot. A lot of permission slips to sign, math worksheets to check, doctors appointments to make, goodnight kisses to bestow. It’s a lot of people to feed, dress, bathe, worry about, and love, especially when one of those four children takes 45 minutes to eat and eats every 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
No doubt about it, life with four kids is hectic, a barely controlled crazy train.

Moments of peace are few and far between, but every once in a while, the sun comes streaming through the window and bathes that littlest of my children in a gentle glow.
All the to do lists melt away and I’m left gazing in hormonal teary wonder at the miracle of those little toes and little fingers. I take the time to breathe her in, to cradle her tiny hand in mine, to stare back into her questing gaze.

Sophie's hands are never far from her face, discovering herself before she discovers the great big world.
Four children is a lot, but I wouldn’t wish away any of the crazy train. The chaos and the peace, even when the peace can only be found in the deep dark stillness before dawn, are all part of a beautiful whole.

She is so, so precious. And I totally don’t consider 4 kids to be a lot! I think around 6 kids? That’s a “big family.”
I would love for just one more baby… She is adorable.
She is truly so sweet and your photos are gorgeous, by the way!
Beautimuss baby girl!!!! She is absolutely adorable!!! Congrats on your baby girl
Beautifully written! Beautiful pictures too

Catch those tranquil moments when you can!
Vanessa, CONGRATULATIONS!!! and Welcome to the World Sophie! She is so beautiful. Enjoy this crazy, sleep deprived time as much as possible. As you know from experience, they grow up so fast. Give Sophie a hug and kiss for me. I love those tiny little feet!

Congratulations! She is beautiful! Four is a lot. I am having #3 next month and wonder how I will manage, but they are so worth it.
She is so beautiful. I only have three kids and feel like I’m on a crazy train. I really can’t imagine having four! Hang in there!
Thanks Meagan! I’m trying to breathe in her baby smell and breathe deep as I do so. I know that it will be gone in the blink of an eye, along with my crazy train!
