There is a silver lining to all of this snow. About 45 minutes from our house is a nice little ski hill called Mad River Mountain. While it’s obviously not Vail, it does have five lifts as well as a bunny hill with two magic carpet rides. Definitely all that we need for our family skiing adventures.
Last weekend, we skipped shoveling out the driveway to introduce the kids to a very rare occurence: fresh Ohio powder! The ride was treacherous. Portions of the highway had not been plowed at all. We passed over a dozen deserted cars nose deep in the snow banks on the side of the road. Once we got to the mountain we were rewarded by some dreamy glides on the pillowy powder. No screech of ski on ice was heard all day. Just smooth, slow, effortless skiing for the entire family.
