>Introducing the Ohio Moms Blog

>As soon as the ink was dry on my husband’s contract, cementing our move to Ohio, I began searching for Ohio bloggers. I looked on Twitter, on Technorati, on Mom Bloggers Club, on Twitter Moms, and on countless other Ning groups. I found them. I found a treasure trove of talented bloggers who write about food, parenting, gardening, and many other passions.

I was searching for these bloggers to get a sense of my new home state, but I had another purpose. I was also recruiting for the latest Silicon Valley Moms Group blog: the Ohio Moms Blog. After writing for New Jersey Moms blog for a year and a half, I took on a position as an editor of the 13 Silicon Valley Moms Blogs six months ago.

What began as an idea in the midst of my move preparations is now a reality. The Ohio Moms Blog launched in mid-December. We have some amazing writers from all over the state. The diversity of their backgrounds has already taught me a great deal about Ohio. In addition to complaining about the cold, they’ve written posts a wide array of topics ranging from the impending death of a family friend to the difference between online and offline friends.

I’m so excited to introduce the Ohio Moms Blog. Check it out, read some posts… I guarantee you’ll walk away having relinquished some stereotypes about the state.

And if you’re interested in writing for one of the Silicon Valley Moms Blogs, please fill out this handy dandy application form. We’re currently actively recruiting for the Philly, Deep South, and Rocky Mountain regions, but are always collecting the names of prospective writers for the waiting lists of all our sites.
