>A Complex Game of Hide and Seek

This picture feels like it was taken months earlier, instead of just three weeks ago.

The kids had been running around, reveling in the hundreds of hiding places to be found amidst the maze of cardboard boxes. Hide and seek had never been so exciting before. But behind the thrill of the adventure and novelty lay sadness and fear of so much change. Bella’s face, caught in a rare still moment, reveals the storm of emotions brewing within.

Happy Wordful, Wordless and Way-back wednesday!

  1. >I've been wondering how the transition is going. My twins begged for us to give back our house constantly the first few weeks we were here. Changing schools is always a challenge as well. Wishing you a wonderful acclimation!

  2. >My husband and I casually mentioned our desire to live elsewhere (as we always do, when vacationing somewhere other than our backyard) and our youngest two (10 and 8) were, like, can we take our family (i.e. extended) with us? Having to box stuff up is keeping us pretty much rooted, at this point 🙂

  3. >You know, as an adult, I struggle with moves…think kids are far more resilient than we are, but can imagine the internal struggle just the same!

Know you all are going to flourish, and already are!

Thanks so much for playing along with Way Back When-esday, Vanessa!
